I am in the process of creating an emergency and transitional shelter here in Boise, ID for men trying to escape a domestic abuse situation. This is a growing problem in our country that has been ignored for far too long. We need to make it okay for men to seek help when trapped in an abusive relationship. We need to show that men don't have to be afraid to talk about their feelings, especially when they need help. My shelter will have emergency bunks setup for overnights, and very small apartments upstairs for men who have children and need somewhere to get them all away from the abusive situation. I intend to not only start a shelter but an entire movement to change the way society views domestic abuse towards men. Won't you please help me "STOP THE SILENCE"?
