The Queensland State of Origin team is a rugby league team representing the state of Queensland that plays in Australia's annual three-match State of Origin series against arch-rivals the New South Wales team. Traditionally known as The Maroons in reference to the maroon jerseys that they wear, the Queensland side plays three matches each year against New South Wales. Like the NSW Origin side, the team is purely representative, with players being chosen from the National Rugby League.
