Adherents to each and every one of these belief systems often would rather die than to give up what they think they know is the absolutely truth despite contradictory evidence. Nothing that anyone believes, however, is inherently correct just because of social indoctrination. Our place in time resulting from where we grew up, our institutions – government, academic, corporate, and religious shape our perceptions of reality.
