ISLAM is an Arabic word. Simply means "Submission" In religios context it means complete submission to the will of Allah (God). Adam (Aleh Salam) was the first Messenger of Allah & first man on the earth too. Muhammad (Sallallah Wasalam) is the last Messenger & Prophet of Allah. All Messengers & Prophets (Peace be upon all) were sent by Allah one after another to teach us about Islam. Teachings of Allah either came through any Messenger & Prophet & Holy Book, are based on ISLAM. Last well known 3 Messengers & Prophets (Peace be upon all) are the Moses, Jesus & Muhammad (Peace be upon all). When going back all the three become ONE at Ibrahim (Abraham) (Aleh Salam) Because of this Ibrahim (Abraham) (Aleh Salam) is known as the common head & father of these three Nations i.e. Jews, Christians & Muslims. Any religion came from Allah (God) either it came through any Messenger or Prophet is the same and one i.e. just ISLAM & believer of ISLAM is called as MUSLIM.
