Currently the law states you can have a drink and still be coherent and responsible enough to control a motor vehicle. British law should be changed to zero tolerance on driving after consuming alcohol. When i was 17 my brother was killed by a hit and run drunk driver. The person who killed him was 3 and a half times over the then legal limit. The penalty she received was a 6 month driving ban and a £150.00 fine. Thank fully the courts have seen that this is no deter ant and harsher sentences are imposed. I believe there should be a zero tolerance to consuming any alcohol before driving a motor vehicle .
