  • About Me

    • Olivia Newton-John, Elvis Presley, Tanya Tucker, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, Reba McIntyre, George Strait, ABBA

    • A&E's "Pride & Prejudice"

    • ESPN's "Four Minutes" I saw this TV movie a few years back. If you're a runner, you'd love this one. It's a story about the first man to break 4 minutes in a mile. Otherwise, I don't have a TV anymore, by choice. Don't really have time for it.

    • John Fowles "The French Lieutenant's Woman", Jane Auel "Clan Of The Cave Bear", Dennis Jones "The Stone and the Maiden", Nora Roberts "Born In... trilogy", Debbie Macomber "Buffalo Valley trilogy", Catherine Cookson "The Dwelling Place, The Black Candle, The Black Velvet Gown, etc...", Nicholas Sparks "True Believer"

    • I have gone downhill skiing in Germany & Angel Fire, hiked the French Alps, went parasailing in Maui, coached my sons basketball team, played point guard for my ROTC intramural team in college, member of Wagoner boxing club in summer of '82, played sweeper for a winning army soccer team in Germany,

    • I enjoy photography. In the past, I have done a few weddings. This hobby goes great when you travel. I have wandered around on foot in Seoul and promptly gotten lost! (I couldn't read the signs), been stuck on a traffic jam in Brussells (Belgium), haggled with a Russian immigrant merchant on an open market somewhere in western Poland, shopped for Bohemian crystals in Karlovy Vary (Czech), bought an all porcelain doll (gift) in Nove (Italy), enjoyed a cold one in a local pub in Geneva (Switzerland), relaxed at a public bath in Budapest (Hungary), visited Dracula's castle in Romania, went bowling in Albertville (France)

    • There's a few more places I'd like to visit one of these days... Ireland, England, Spain, Greece, the Black Sea... actually, there's too many to mention...

    • Well, let me see... I've competed in biathlon (run & bike) in California, Oklahoma and Germany, ran marathons in Texas, a 200 mile bike tour in Ohio, hiked up and down the French Alps, climbed up the Sequoia National Park on a 10 speed bike from sea level to 6000 ft elevation, competed in a canoe race down river where my partner and I picked up and ran carrying the canoe when the water was too low! I guess it would be safe to say for my best feature is my legs?

    • "at last she looked up at him. Her eyes were full of tears, and her look unbearably naked. Such look we have all once or twice in our lives received and shared; they are those in which words melts, pasts dissolve, moments when we know, in the resolution of profoundest need, that the rock of ages can never be anything else but love, here, now..." Does anybody out there recognize these lines? It came from one of my all time favorite book.

    • Young ladies... Please don't leave a comment giving me your email address or that it's too much trouble getting in touch with me on this site... I'm old enough to be your father. It seems that I had to delete several comments and messages a day these last couple of weeks.

    • The year was 1976, my buddies and I were visiting Munich. We went to the stadium where the American marathoner, Frank Shorter won the gold in the '72 Olympics. We found the gate locked up so we did what every American teenager would do, climb and jump over the fence! We were having a blast, running around the track, imitating Shorter in his gold medal winning race when the Munich polizei showed up. Needless the say, they weren't very happy with us. But after they realize that they were dealing with a group of young over zealous, wanna-be Olympian American soldiers, they let us go with a warning.
