I have a rather eclectic likeing for music from opera to calssical to country to Boroque, old time rock and Roll, R&B ...good music somehow makes the world a more wonderful place...I could listen to Andrea Buchelli for hours.......and do.

Dr. Zhivago is my favorite movie it touches all my bases, he was a poet, he had great courage at a difficult time in history, he had idealism and a hatred for injustice...he was the me I would hope to have been in that time and place...and of course I love history. I am a sucker for a good love story especially from the 30's and 40's... How Green was my Valley and San Francisco with Clark Gable and Jeanette McDonald never fail to bring a tear to my eyes...more than once.

Well until Boardwalk Empire came along which eclipsed everything that came before, I liked the CSI's really anything Gerry Bruckheimer had his fingerprints on, the History chanel, WW I narrated by Robert Ryan (seldom seen these days) and 'Economics USA' ( a CBS series never seen these days...alas).

Ulysses by James Joyce (not...even I didnt understand it all and I am a pretty bright guy) I like historical novels, as well as history..Paris 1919 for example...explains all the problems we have had since the Paris Peace Conference at Versialles, and believe me when I tell you that those who do not learn the lessons of history ARE doomed to repeat them....so why is the study of history in our schools so low on the totem pole? Beacuse an ignorant population is more easily manipulated by those in power. We entered WW I to make the world safe for democracy...at a time when 1 person with access to anything could kill a few thousand at best...today he could kill millions and potentially billions. We do not live in a global village, we live in a global jungle. I have a lecture series on YOUTube; one of them is about how we can improve our educational system...comments are not only welcome but invited.

I skipped first grade so when ever sports teams were picked everyone was 20% older bigger and better...my intorduction to team sports was "you take him no you take him...." never got into team sports after that so I was left with playing with myself.... but I do watch the superbowl etc.

I have a wide range of interests from art to antiques to fast cars to good horses , to a good book or anything sung by Maria Callas, or Dolly or Julio or John Denver singing 'for Baby' or the Judds singing Love can Build a Bridge... I am a sucker for romance...am a published poet, syndicated columnist and newspaper publisher...love to write and read...always learning (when I pay attantion that is). I enjoy public speaking and have a lecture series on YOUTUBE given on a PBS Media cruise in '08. There are 4. Education, Globalization, Competitveness and the promise of Obama. to do something to make the world a better place even if just by a tiny bit...am writing a book "Of Thee I Sing...a Vision for Americas Future"..love the saying "If you want peace, fight for justice" I like to think that if G-d gave me all these gifts he did it for more than as a reason to impress my friends and intimidate my enemies...lol

I am told that I have wonderful eyes...and from riding i have pretty good legs...in between is so so..but the will is there ...(just listen to Toby Kieth singing 'As Good As I Once Was"....lol)

I have the curse of being different...I have ADD, am very bright and creative, very verbal and articulate, love to discuss just about anything with someone who has something between their ears other than pre conceived ideas, I am unfailingly optimistic...the glass could be empty and the sun shining and I will expect rain any minute...and I truly am a man who sees things that never were and asks.."why not?"
