Most people like to ‘trade’ generosity – ‘I’ll do this for you if you do this for me’. The idea with pay it forward is ‘I’ll do this for you, if you do this for someone else who needs it in the future.’ Whether you say this to them or not, the fact that you are showing kindness without want of return encourages the other person to in turn give to others.Think of how you can ‘pay it forward’ to someone this week – it could be a friend, a parent, or even someone you wouldn’t usually speak to. It doesn’t have to be anything big – even a smile to someone feeling down can mean the world. Be kind and don’t ask for anything in return – the more you practice this, the more you’ll find more good things will start happening to you in your life.
