Description:Social needs / flock composition Canaries are social animals and children will not be kept alone. If you keep two canaries of different sexes (one pair), will they often want to breed. If you have acquired two females, they may well live in tolerance and will thrive. Two males together will often lead to disputes, so it must be recommended either to hold two or more females or one male and one or more females together if they live in a cage. Kanariehannens territorial behavior towards other males can be very tough. In a large aviary will could have more males, but you have to be aware that problems may arise in pack.
